Who is eligible to receive services?
- Must be a resident of Austin, Colorado, Fort Bend, Matagorda, Waller, or Wharton counties.
- Adults aged 18 and older diagnosed with Schizophrenia, Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder or other serious and persistent mental illness that interferes with an individual’s independent living skills.

Mental Health Adult Outpatient Services
Medication Services and Medication
Our clinics are staffed with psychiatrists and nurses. Psychiatrists and/or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners evaluate patients and prescribe medication to help reduce or eliminate symptoms of mental illness. Your prescriber will see you at regular intervals and monitor your progress, provide education on your medications and order laboratory tests required for the medications you are receiving. Many patients served by Texana qualify for assistance with the cost of medications.
Care Coordination
Care Coordinators help clients and families identify needs, assist in resolving problems, coordinating services and linking with other available resources. Your care coordinator will work with you to develop your personalized recovery plan based on the goals you have for yourself. This includes care coordination for veterans and members of the military.
Skills Training and Development
This training provides you with an opportunity to enhance skills in coping, social, emotional and self-control, which are all needed to manage daily living and improve behaviors. Specific skills training include: social behavior, assertiveness, problem solving, relaxation, anger management, understanding and expressing feelings, coping strategies, budgeting, learning why and how to take medications and independent living skills.
Therapy
This service is provided by licensed counselors and will work with you to resolve problems that may be caused by your symptoms with the goal of improving your daily life. Therapy is effective in helping individuals overcome negative thoughts, reducing distress and coping with problems effectively.
Mental Health Specialized Services for Adults
Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)
This program provides intensive monitoring and follow-up addressing your current needs including assistance in accessing medical, social, educational, housing, employment and other support services.
Coordinated Specialty Care for Psychosis (CSC)
This program is designed to meet the needs of individuals with an early onset of psychosis. CSC is for individuals ages 15 – 30 who have a psychotic disorder diagnosed within the past two years.
Home and Community Based Services – Adult Mental Health
This program provides home and community based services to adults with serious mental illness. An array of services are provided to meet each individual’s needs.
Criminal Justice Involved Projects
Adult TCOOMMI Project
This project works collaboratively with the Adult Probation Departments in Colorado and Fort Bend counties and with the Rosenberg District Parole Office to jointly provide intensive case management services to clients with a serious and persistent mental illness who are currently on probation or parole.
SB292 Fort Bend County Project
In collaboration with Fort Bend County, Texana Center provides services to those individuals who have been incarcerated in the last 12 months with high propensity for recidivism and who are Fort Bend County residents.
